Description:Occasional vine; stems with milky sap; leaves heart-shaped; corona maroonish black, 5-lobed; corolla maroon. 
Habitat:Upland mixed forest; with Pteridium aquilinum, Sassafras albidum, and Vaccinium stamineum.

Habitat:Abandoned Bahia grass [Paspalum notatum] pasture along edge of secondary upland hardwood hammock (formerly scrub), on 2-5% slopes, Tavares soils; with Carya glabra, Quecus hemisphaerica [Q. laurifolia], Pinus clausa, Ximenia americana, Callicarpa americana, Sideroxylon tenax, and Asclepias tomentosa.
