Locality:USA. Tennessee. Rutherford Co.: Between Murfreesboro and Beechgrove; S side of Ridley Earp Road in SW quadrant of junction with US 41, 1 mi. S of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, ca. 10 mi. S of Murfreesboro.
Description:Locally common perennial sedge, rhizomes orange-tan, wiry; fruit ripe. 
Habitat:At base of quarry pit at low western margin; dolomite 'pavement' with marl muck; pond within large, deep quarry; quarry pond with Juncus filipendulus and Cladium mariscoides within cedar glade; dolomite prairie; dominated by scattered Juniperus virginiana, Prunus serotina.
